Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Breakfast
My Creative Process
On October 26, 2022, the University of Toronto Career Centre hosted their first ever Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Breakfast, where students and alumni had the opportunity to connect with recruiters from various industries. The spirit of this event was rooted in connecting like minded individuals and granting students the opportunity to access job opportunities and knowledge about the current job market in an equitable space.
The EDI Breakfast was a new initiative at the UTM Career Centre, and therefore needed a fresh and new brand that would simultaneously interest, educate, and encourage registration from UTM students.
The foundational concept of my design was to represent the concept of diversity and inclusiveness by having diverse advertisements. I created 6 unique designs that represented a different equity deserving group. My goal was to catch students' attention, by representing them effectively. To educate students, I included vital time, date, location based details as well as a short blurb to clearly outline the benefits of attending the event. On larger foam boards and posters I also included the company logos, of organizations who were attending, to further educate students on what to expect if they choose to attend the event. Lastly to encourage registration, I placed a QR code on all advertisements, to grants students quick and easy access.
